San José Semaphore on Adobe Building: Crack the Code

Adobe is erecting a glowing 70-feet long and 10-feet tall digital artwork, San José Semaphore, on top of their Almaden Tower headquarters that will even be visible in the San Jose Skyline.

Semaphore consists of four ten-foot wide illuminated disks that rotate to a new position every eight seconds.

With four wheels and four positions each, Semaphore has a vocabulary of 256 possible combinations, creating a way of communicating its encrypted message, known only to the artist and those involved with the installation.

Cracking Semaphore's coded message will be posed as a challenge for the public.

Stay tuned until August 7 when the puzzle will be unveiled atop the Adobe San Jose building.
